The Target Discovery & Development Network forges interactions between CSHL experimentalists and bioinformaticians to support the identification of novel therapeutic targets across a wide spectrum of cancer types. It is a newly-established entity within Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory designed to rapidly identify oncogenes and tumor suppressors that contribute to the development of cancer. The discovery process is expected to be performed at a rapid and efficient level.
Candidates should have a B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline, with demonstrable experimental skills and at least two years laboratory research experience.
Candidates should have experience with widely used molecular and cell biology experimental methods, including mammalian cell culture techniques, retrovirus/lentivirus propagation and culture, molecular cloning and Western blotting. Experience with, or willingness to master, animal handling and injections is a plus. Excellent organization and communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and contribute as part of a group, are a must.
