Antique American Eagle. Very old.
Solid heavy piece made from an early type of resin (not plaster) making it weather proof. Probably cast from a mold from a hand carved wooden original as can be seen from the chisel marks. Has original untouched gilded finish with great patina and holds a shield and banner in its talons. I originally bought it as an antique at the Yankee Peddler antique store at 1038 NY Ave in Huntington Station (the store is presently called Suite Pieces). It has been hanging in our home for over 40 years. 80 inches long and 36 inches high. Very imposing piece. Best offer.
