I have a Vintage Estes "Missile Command" Model Rocket Starter Set for sale. Everything is in excellent, unused condition and comes in the original packaging. First introduced in 1998 and bears Estes item no. 1818. Some wear and stains are present on the packaging but nothing that has affected the contents.
The Missile Command Starter Set features two partially assembled model rockets; one resembling an "Army" surface-to-surface missle and the other resembling a "Navy" ship-to-air missle. Flight supplies for the first three launches are included in the set.
The only other assembly required on the rockets is to attach the parachutes. I highly reccomend the use of "snap swivels" in attaching the parachutes. This will insure less chance of an entanglement and eases removal of the parachute later on should you have need to. "Snap Swivels" can be found in most hardware or craft/hobby stores.
The set includes all of the following:
• Partially assembled "Army" model rocket
- Specifications: 16.6" long, 1" diameter, 1.6oz. Max altitude is 1,100'
• Partially assembled "Navy" model rocket
- Specifications: 16" long, 1" diameter, 1.7oz. Max altitude is 1,000'
• Assembled "Electron Beam" launch controller with 15' of wire, safety key and launch rod cap (requires four "AA" alkaline batteries, not included)
• Easily assembled and disassembled "Porta-Pad II" launch pad with 2 piece, 1/8" diameter launch rod and metal blast deflector plate with rocket support
• Three pack of assorted Estes "Cobra" model rocket engines, igniters and plugs
• Parachute recovery wadding
• Two pre-assembled, 12" diameter parachutes ready for attachment
• Beginners booklet that includes NAR (National Association of Rocketry) safety code
• Full instructions
But wait, there's more!
I am including, FOR FREE, all of the following items:
1) An assembled Estes E2X Series "MK-109 Stingray" (Estes item no. 2131) model rocket. Modeled after a "Navy" ship-to-air missle. The model is finished in white with authentic decals. The finished model is 15" long by 1" in diameter and uses a 12" diameter recovery parachute. It can use A8-3, B4-4, B6-4, B6-5, B6-6, C6-5 or C6-7 Estes engines and can achieve an altitude of 1,050'.
2) An Estes "Flight Pack" (item no. 7910) which contains three B4-4 engines, ignitors, plugs and recovery wadding
3) A pack of Estes "Cobra" A8-3 model rocket engines which includes igniters and plugs
4) An unopened package of Estes recovery wadding which contains 75, 4.5" by 4.5" sheets
I must state that I cannot guarantee the engines and igniters due to their age. Estes states there is no "shelf life" on model rocket engines and igniters as long as they are stored in a controlled environment which these were.
The Estes Missile Command Starter Set retailed for $34.99 in 1998.
I am asking $30 firm, CASH ONLY for the set and ALL extra items listed above.
