This is a vintage print of Ferdinand Roybet’s famous etching / painting entitled, “The Recital.”
Roybet (1840-1920) was a French realist painter, printer and engraver. He is renowned for painting contemporary figures in historical costumes.
In 2002, the original painting sold at Christie’s Auction House for $14,340.
This etching has been professionally framed in a gold tone frame featuring classically ornate elements. An attractive tan colored matte complements the artwork and creates a cohesive look.
The ready-to-hang frame measures approximately 17 3/4” x 21 1/4”.
Excellent condition. No issues whatsoever.
