RipTide Marine Services is an Authorized Yamaha Outboard Dealer and Authorized May-Craft Boats Dealer serving Long Island’s boating community. As our dealership continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Marine & Outboard Technician to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to build a long-term career with a company that invests in its employees, equipment, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, maintain, and repair four-stroke outboard engines (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, etc.)
* Rig and install new outboards and complete repower packages
* Install, diagnose, and repair 12-volt electrical systems, batteries, charging systems, plumbing, and marine electronics
* Install and configure GPS units, radar, sonar, digital controls, and integrated marine systems
* Perform winterizations, shrink wrapping, and seasonal maintenance
* Diagnose and repair fuel, cooling, steering, and control systems
* Assist with hauling, launching, and transporting boats using travel lifts, forklifts, and trailers
* Conduct sea trials and final quality-control inspections
* Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and estimates
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of professional marine technician experience
* Strong knowledge of four-stroke outboard diagnostics and repair
* Experience with engine rigging, repowers, 12-volt electrical systems, plumbing, and marine electronics
* Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, or Evinrude certifications are highly preferred
* Experience with shrink wrapping and winterization
* Experience operating forklifts, travel lifts, and trailers is a plus
* Clean, valid driver’s license required
* Professional tool set required
* Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
* Positive attitude and commitment to producing high-quality work
