Non-profit organization looking for part time evening custodian (~28+ hrs/wk).
Normal hours (Monday thru Friday, 3pm – varies pm, some opportunities for additional)
Performs routine cleaning and manual work in the custodial care of buildings and surrounding grounds; performs simple maintenance tasks; performs related duties as required.
Under general supervision, the duties are routine and the work is reviewed for quality, accuracy and completeness.
The duties involve the exercise of limited judgment in performing manual work cleaning and caring for buildings.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Sweeps, mops, vacuums, waxes and polishes floors, halls, lavatories and work areas.
Replaces depleted items in lavatories from building supplies
Dust and cleans furniture, walls, windows and equipment, from the inside of buildings.
Replace light bulbs and make routine maintenance repairs to buildings and equipment.
Move furniture and equipment. setting up and breaking down tables and chairs.
Shovels snow, cleans sidewalks, yards, and driveways, mow and waters lawns, rakes leaves, assist in keeping outside premises orderly.
Emptying trash containers, changing filters.
Makes minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
Performs related duties as required.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to learn the methods and equipment used in custodial activities.
Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
Sufficient physical strength to perform custodial activities.
Ability to read and understand cleaning instructions and warning information on cleaning chemical labels.
Ability to use hand tools.
Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning operations
No formal training requirement.
No experience requirement.
