As a Housekeeper, you will play an essential role in supporting resident health, infection prevention, and overall quality of life by ensuring resident apartments and common areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness.
Essential Responsibilities
Resident Apartments
Clean resident apartments according to established schedules and infection prevention protocols.
Dust, vacuum, mop, and sanitize all assigned living areas.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors, and floors.
Empty trash and replace liners.
Make beds and change linens as assigned.
Report maintenance concerns observed within resident apartments.
Common Areas
Clean and disinfect hallways, lounges, dining rooms, activity spaces, offices, restrooms, elevators, and entrances.
Maintain a clean, welcoming appearance throughout the community.
Ensure floors are free from debris and safety hazards.
Infection Prevention
Follow all infection control procedures and universal precautions.
Properly use and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA standards and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Disinfect high-touch surfaces throughout the day.
Laundry Support (As Assigned)
Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident linens and towels.
Maintain laundry equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
Resident Service
Greet residents and visitors in a friendly and respectful manner.
Respond courteously to resident requests and communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Safety and Compliance
Follow all Department of Health (DOH), OSHA, and facility policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Report accidents, hazards, spills, and unsafe conditions immediately.
Participate in emergency preparedness drills and required safety training.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare, assisted living, hospitality, or long-term care preferred.
Ability to read and understand cleaning instructions and safety information.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
Demonstrates compassion, patience, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist.
Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Safely operate housekeeping equipment.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
