I have a classic "Don't Cut the Cheese" game for sale. It was manufactured by Fundex Games (item no. 2565) in 2005 and is in very good condition. The game has never been played and, as packaged, the game components are still in sealed plastic bags. The original box shows very minor scuffs/scrapes. The game is recommended for players 6 years and older and from 2 to 6 players.
Game play is done in rounds and is started by setting up the mouse trap with a piece of "cheese paper" and placing all of the "cheese tokens" face down as per the instructions. Then, the youngest player takes possesion of "Max the Mouse" (a glorified paper hole punch) and the spinner dial. They begin the game by spinning the mouse shaped pointer on the spinner dial. The nose of the mouse on the spinner dial is the pointer and whatever it points to, those instructions must be followed. For example, if the pointer lands on "2 Bites", the player uses "Max the Mouse" to take 2 "bites" out of the "cheese paper" on the trap.
There are several spots on the spinner dial: 1 Bite, 2 Bites, 3 Bites, Skip (you can skip your turn), Reverse (direction of game play reverses, skip your turn and pass "Max the Mouse" and the spinner dial to the previous player) and 1 Bite and Spin Again (player uses "Max the Mouse" to take 1 Bite out of the "cheese paper" and spins the dial again, doing as the spinner says).
If the player doesn't break the "cheese paper" and snap the trap during their turn, he passes "Max the Mouse" and the spinner dial to the player to his/her left and the round continues. If a player breaks the "cheese paper" and snaps the trap during his/her turn, the first round of game play is complete. All players who did not snap the trap during the round get to draw one "cheese token". Players then turn their token face up in front of them, the trap is set again and the player who lost that round begins the new one. Hence, the object of the game is to be the first player to collect three different colored "cheese tokens" without snapping the trap.
Depending on how the game progresses, you may have several "cheese tokens" of the same color but you can only win if you have three different colors.
If there should be a tie, the player with the most tokens wins. If there is still a tie, the players have a "spin-off" with the spinner dial. The one who lands on the lowest number of bites wins.
Fun for the whole family on game night. Would make a great gift to.
